You can go to a remote place where the results of winter snow melt and summer rains gush tinkling and sparkling out of the ground in the form of a natural spring; but, collect a sample from it and it is likely to show at least some turbidity. This comes from a variety of sources. Dissolved minerals from the underground, natural cave dwelling organisms, soil, washed in with the rain or melting snow or, even man assisted pollution washed in from further up the stream’s underground route.
The Spring Flows Onwards And The Additives Increase
As the stream flows through open countryside, there are more opportunities for foreign bodies to enter it. There will be soil and debris from its banks; fungus spores of the type that colonize when wet plus algae, slimes and all sorts of minute organisms. Not too far downstream from the spring, it may no longer be possible to stand on its banks and see through to its bottom. Maybe it has already become too polluted to be considered fit for drinking by humans and animals alike; although, maybe, it can still support some fish and other aquatic life?
More and more will be added as the stream becomes a fully blown river and continues its way downhill to the ocean. In places where the land contours allow, the stream or river will collect a mass that becomes almost static – pools, lakes, etc. (at one time, this pooling was entirely natural but, nowadays, human-constructed dams and reservoirs form similar bodies of near stationary flow).
Keeping The Water Pure And Attractive To Human Eyes
Whether it is an artificial lake on a golf course; a fish pool in a park; a watersports facility; or even a reservoir for animals (particularly livestock) to drink from; it is fact that clear is likely to be purer than turbid and definitely has a better appearance for those visiting the place.
When dealing with swimming pools; whether at our homes, in hotels or resorts, etc; these are kept clean by constant filtering and the addition of some chemicals. This is easy to manage on such a smaller scale but would be almost impossible at more remote locations and/or much larger flooded areas (lakes, etc).
For the latter cases, human intervention in the form of additives is usually required. For Ponds, Water Clear Products that will negate or destroy the unwanted “stuff” are available and can be added to virtually any body of water.
