Differences Between A Regular And Mini Facelift In Houston

Many women find that, over time, their faces seem to sag, and they look worn out or tired. If you’ve noticed this happened to you, you may want to consider a facelift in Houston. However, there are two versions available, including the traditional and mini one. It’s important to know the differences between both so you can make an informed decision about which one will be best.

Full

Full face lifts may also be called Traditional Face Lift or Rhytidectomy. The procedure is considered surgical and includes making an incision near the ear. Skin is then separated from the deeper tissues, tightened with sutures and then the skin is re-draped. Afterwards, any extra skin is removed to make you look more toned, tight, and young.

This works best to eliminate skin folds of the neck and cheeks, as well as tightening the skin over the entire face. It typically requires general anesthesia and may require you to stay overnight in the hospital, depending on how you react to the procedure.

Typically, the procedure will take many hours though you will be asleep. The results aren’t considered immediate but are permanent.

Recovery time includes having the stitches removed after a week. If you happen to bruise from the procedure, this will take about one week to resolve itself and any numbness you feel make take upwards of three months to go away.

Mini

A mini facelift in Houston is sometimes called a weekend face lift. The procedure is still considered surgical though smaller incisions are used. Muscles are reshaped, and extra fat is typically removed.

This can help reduce sagging around the jaw, neck and cheeks and is meant to focus on specific areas of the face. However, it will not affect the eye or forehead area.

A local anesthetic is used, which means you will be awake for the procedure. However, there will be no overnight stay in the hospital, and the process takes no more than one and a half hours.

Sutures are still required, but they will be removed after one week, and a bandage must be worn for 48 hours after the procedure.

Typical risks can include blood clots, bruising, swelling, bleeding and scarring, though most people return to work and normal activities after a few days.

While it can be an excellent alternative to a traditional lift, it is not considered permanent though you will see immediate results.

A facelift in Houston is an excellent way to tighten up the skin without injecting yourself with chemicals. If you’re interested, consider Museum District Aesthetic Plastic Surgery today.
