A commercial diver is a professional diver who can work in a number of industries. Commercial diving means that the diver is experienced, trained, and licensed to work in the state or country where they are located. Commercial diving opens up the door for several career opportunities.
An inland diver will work on inland projects. This means that they are going to work with civil engineers on projects done involving lakes, rivers, dams, and harbors. Usually, this type of work is not as dangerous as working with offshore rigs. The other side of the coin is that the pay is usually less.
HAZMAT divers face dangers constantly. These are highly skilled professionals. They have the skill and training to work in the most dangerous conditions. They are usually required to dive into dangerous materials that are full of pollution, chemicals, or sewage.
Nuclear divers face some of the same challenges of HAZMAT divers. They work under dangerous conditions and take precautionary measures unique to the level of radiation they could be exposed to. They may need to dive using a water suit. This suit is designed to minimize the heat stress from working in contaminated areas.
A scientific diver may study life underwater. These are unique divers in that they are as many scientists as they are divers. They are expertly trained in both positions. Scientific divers may work inland, but they also do a lot of work that is offshore.
