Planning a scuba diving is a great time to sit down and figure out where in the world you want to go. There are many dive locations throughout the world, but perhaps one of the best locations is in North Charleston, SC. North Charleston is very diverse in what they have to offer. They have every thing from an abundant sea life to beautiful reefs formed by sunken ships. Whatever your pleasure, you are sure to find what you are looking for.

There are many options to consider when looking for scuba Diving. There are several dive shops, each with their own personal service. Most dive shops will take you to the more popular dive spots, but they differ in their service. When some people think of a dive trip, they think of crowded boats with regulators and BC’s thrown about. Untangling the mess can be daunting. Some dive shops provide dives in which only 6 divers are on a boat per trip. This allows for a more relaxed atmosphere in which you can rest assured that your equipment will not get tangled with another diver’s equipment.

Typically when you do on a dive trip, a dive master leads you through the dive. Some dive shops allow you to make your own plan and then dive your plan without a dive master leading the way. When planning dives, some key elements you might want to consider exploring are the Statue of Christ of the Abyss, Spiegel Grove, and Molasses Reef among others. The statue can be seen by snorklers and divers alike. It rests just under the surface of the ocean, in between coral reefs. It is a breathtaking site from underwater. The Spiegel is a Navy ship that was sunk in June, 2002. It allows for several swim through and has an abundance of sponges and corals growing off it. Molasses Reef contains an abundance of marine life and high profile coral heads that make for a spectacular show underwater.
