System Considerations
The operating conditions for the system have to be known to choose the best option in high purity valves. This includes the high and low-pressure limits for the system, the temperature of the media, the ambient or environmental operating temperature as well as the flow through the system. The specific characteristics of the media, including the viscosity, if solids are present and any corrosive materials in the media should also be known before choosing a valve.
Valve Requirements

For example, ball valves are typically used for on and off operation of a system, but they can also be used for general flow control in some applications. Other valves, such as check valves, work automatically, and are used to prevent backflow through a system
Metering valves are the ideal choice when there is a need to carefully control the flow of the media through the valve. Each of these valves, in turn, can be controlled manually, through a solenoid or in pneumatic applications.
