Veneers: Get the Smile You Deserve

You don’t feel confident when you smile with your teeth. You’ve developed a guarded, closed-lip smile, but you want the freedom to fully express yourself when smiling. Smiling can boost the mood and convey happiness and confidence to the world. With veneers, you can transform your smile into the smile you’ve always wanted.

Veneers

Veneers are covering that goes over your natural teeth. They are very thin porcelain, which makes them look like real teeth. A dentist bond veneers over unsightly teeth to create a whiter, straighter appearance.

Candidates

Veneers in Chicago Loop or any other city are for those who are unpleased with the aesthetic of their teeth. Maybe your teeth are naturally discolored or stained. Teeth might be chipped, misshapen, or cracked. If you don’t like the look of your teeth for these reasons, you could be a candidate for veneers.

Procedure

After you and your dentist discuss veneers to ensure you’re a good candidate, two appointments are scheduled for the veneer procedure. In the first, the dentist prepares the teeth by removing some enamel equivalent to the thickness of the veneer. This can be done with a local anesthetic if it’s deemed to be painful. Then, the dentist takes a mold of your teeth to send off to the lab that makes the veneers.

In a few weeks, the veneers come in and your second appointment takes place. At this appointment, your dentist cleans and preps your teeth by making their surface rough. A rough surface bonds better with the cement. After lining up the veneers and trimming them appropriately, the dentist cements them to your teeth. A special light cures the cement.

Results

After the dentist does some final cleanup, your veneers are complete. You can then immediately enjoy a new, improved smile. If you properly care for your mouth, your veneers should last a long time without staining or be damaged.
