What Is the Best Dry-Use Aerospace Coating Available in El Paso, Texas

As part of NASA’s space program, dicronite was developed to act as a dry lubricant. It was first patented back in 1965, registered as DL5. It’s seen widespread adoption since then, becoming a popular aerospace coating.

Aerospace Coating

When applying it, dicronite is put on parts at ambient temperatures. As such, it’s much easier to work with than many compounds used by the aerospace industry. There isn’t a need for binders or adhesives, either.

Once it’s applied, it lowers a surface’s coefficient of friction. So, it can reduce drag experienced by pieces of a plane, increasing its efficiency.

With a maximum thickness of 0.5 microns, it’s incredibly lightweight. Adding a layer of it to your parts won’t increase the final product’s weight by much. That’s why it has such a minimal impact on precision tolerances.

Modified WS2 Formula With Enhanced Binding

Since being invented, there have been few changes to dicronite’s formula. However, WS2 is an enhanced version that binds to substrates better. Plus, if it’s on your parts, it won’t affect repairs. Pieces may be repaired without removing it from them first. So, in-field repairs are still an option if this is on your parts. Additionally, multiple layers can go on the same surface without stripping. That makes it much simpler to work with if your parts are losing coats often.
